"On The Path"
"On The Path" is a digital collage which includes a background photograph (handheld with a very long exposure taken at 5:30am at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles) combined with a woman meditating that I altered in post-processing. I enjoyed the process of making this collage ~ I wanted to artistically portray her head as "empty" of all thoughts, as though she were well on her way to achieving her goal.

This blossom sprouted like a giant asparagus spear from a Century Plant and developed into this beautiful vision against the blue sky of La Quinta, California. Members of the Amaryllis Family, century plants take many years to flower and were a source of food, fiber, medicine, weapons and soap for Native Americans.

"Water Trio"
The recorded rainfall for Palm Springs was 1.57 inches, a new record for December 17th, beating the 1.52 inches in 1940. I was so anxious to use my camera, I took an umbrella (not for me, but to protect my precious camera) and went outside to see what I could find.
The water had filled our pool to the rim and the spillover from the spa was flowing nicely: see a larger version of Water #1
I had some fun with the way the tile inlay in the spa looked below the water disturbed from the rain and captured this: see a larger version of Water #2
And finally, I played with some closeups of the raindrops peppering the pool, and altered one a bit in Photoshop: see a larger version of Water #3
